Conservative MLA and Minister of Lands and Forests, George HENLEY, has generously donated the
67-year-old Capitol Theatre to the town.

The late John A. KENNEDY of Wallace has bequeathed his family home and land in Wallace to the
province as a museum in memory of his family's contribution to the area.

Died - Noreen Muriel BROWN, 66, Wallace Bay, November 19.

Wednesday, November 19, 1980.

David WILLS, 19, Pugwash, an employee of the Canadian Rock Salt Co. Ltd., was critically injured
last Friday when the door of a railway boxcar he and David ARSENAULT of Oxford were attempting
to close struck him on the side of the head.

Died - Greta Marion (Coulter) CLARKE, 74, native of Wallace, November 14.

Earl D. FULLERTON of Pugwash was re-elected warden of Cumberland County for his fourth
consecutive term as a member of the Municipal Council on October 20.

Died - Charles Ira BLACK, 70, Little River, November 6.
Died - Miss Pearl TREEN, 55, formerly of Wentworth, November 7.

Thursday, November 17, 1960.

Perle SWAN, who has been mail carrier on Wentworth RR1 for almost 15 years, has retired.

James MACVICAR, physical education instructor at ORHS, was elected 1961 president of Oxford
Kiwanis Club to succeed President George HENLEY.

Died - William LOCKHART, 70, a native of Pugwash, recently.

Harlow HOLLIS of Pugwash was elected president of the North Cumberland Red Cross.

Bernard SPROULE of Pugwash suffered a possible fracture of the skull when his motorcycle went
out of control at Waverly on November 11.

Thursday, November 14, 1940.

The initial meeting of the newly formed Red Cross Society was held in the Knights of Pythias
Hall on November 12 with president Mrs. J.R. GILROY in the chair.

DALE, Douglas Eugene, 64, Vermont, USA, October 21, 2010. Born in Oxford, NS, eldest son of
Nina (Rushton) Dale and the late Norman G. Dale. Grandson of the late Walter and Bernice
(Purdy) Rushton of Oxford, NS. Surviving are his wife Ellen (Creron); son Michael; daughter
Debbie; grandsons Patrick (Sullivan) and Cory Dale; brothers Dave (Irene) and Dean, all of
Easthampton, Mass. Predeceased by his eldest son Thomas.

TERRIS, Darrell Ralph "Denny", 66 years, Springhill, Thursday, November 18, 2010. Born in
Springhill, son of the late Kenneth and Emily (Light) Terris. Missed by his former wife
Paulette Terris, Springhill; daughters Julie (Rick) Quinn, Lynn Mountain, and Marla (Doug)
Plumstead, Fredericton, NB; brothers Harold Terris and Ronald (Lorraine) Terris, both of
Springhill; sisters Joan Hawker and Karen (Robert) MacDonald, both of Springhill.
