Re: McLeod family of Pugwash circa 1872

I don't know if this is of much help. I found a John McLeod, s/o Murd.
and Mary, of Pugwash, who married in 1882. This could be a brother of
Margaret's. I looked on the HVS, it listed Murd. occupation as a ship carpenter.

Good luck.

My g-g-grandmother was Margaret (Mary) B. McLeod, born about 1854 in Nova
Scotia
(no known place) (source: later U.S. census records).

The record of her 1872 marriage to Morris Allen, of Chatham N.B., says she
and
her parents, [Murdoch?] and Mary (Scott) McLeod, lived in Pugwash, N.S.
The
marriage took place at St. Thomas parish in Memramcook, Westmorland Co.,
N.B.
(source: Drouin; her father’s name is not clear).
The Morris and Margaret Allen later moved to Stillwater, Minnesota (1880
census), and then, at least by 1889, to Waltham, Massachusetts. Their
daughter,
Minnie (Mary?), 1873-1948, and son, James William, 1877-1944, were both
born in
Chatham, before the move to Minnesota.
I have not been able to find any information about the McLeod family. I
would
especially like to indentify other children, if any, and, of course,
origin
(Scots or Irish?) and any otherinformation about her parents, etc. Thank
you!
