Robert "Bob" Hazel (January 24, 1948 - January 3, 2011)
Robert Bruce Hazel "Gorgeous Bob", 62, of Amherst passed away
unexpectedly on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Cumberland Regional
Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan. Born in Advocate, NS, he was a son
of the late Spicer M. and Mae A. (Stronge) Hazel. Bob was a local truck
driver. He found great joy in trading and buying cars and trucks over
the years. Bob was a loving father, grandfather, brother and will be
sadly missed by all. He will be dearly remembered by his loving wife and
companion, Kim; his children, Dale Robert, Darren Bruce (Rhonda Porter),
John Michael (Tessa Estabrooks), Juanita Earline Hazel, all of Amherst;
Denine Mabel (Walter Goodwin) Leard, Sackville, NB, Joy Mae (Isaac)
Estabrooks, Moncton, NB; ten grandchildren; brothers, Rupert (Liz)
Stronge, Amherst and Clifford Hazel, Montreal; sisters, Joyce Snow,
Saint John, Jean Nickerson both of Saint John, NB, Lois Allen, Advocate,
Diane Amon, and Cheryl (Billy) Stewart both of Parrsboro as well as many
nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, Bob was
predeceased by his first wife, Alda Mae Corney; and brother, Glen.
Family and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Wednesday,
January 5, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, 2-4 p.m. followed
immediately by the funeral service at 4 p.m. both in Campbell's Funeral
Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Rev. Chet MacPhail
officiating. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the family or

HAZEL, Mae A. - 90, of Advocate Harbour, Cumberland Co., passed away
Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre,
Upper Nappan. Born in Spencer's Island, she was a daughter of the late
Earl and Florence (Rushton) Stronge. She is survived by daughters,
Eugena Hazel, Yarmouth; Dianne Hazel, Parrsboro; Joyce Snow, Saint John;
Lois Allen, Advocate Harbour; Cheryl Stewart (Angus), Parrsboro; sons,
Clifford "Buck", Dorval, Que.; Robert, Amherst; Rupert Stronge, Amherst;
half-sister, Ella Roy (Russell), Truro; half-brothers, John Stronge,
Truro; Dara Stronge, Advocate Harbour; 31 grandchildren; numerous great-
grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son, Glen; half-sisters, Evelyn, Cleta;
half-brothers, Willard, Conrad, Cecil; granddaughter, Lorraine.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro and
12:30-1:30 p.m. Monday March 8, in Spencer's Island Union Church, where
funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Rev. Henry Devito officiating.
Burial in Advocate Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity
