OBITUARY: Robert E. George
Robert E. George, 70, died Thursday at the N. S. Sanatorium, Kentville. Born
in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late James Edward and Margaret (May)
George and a step-son of Mrs. Gertrude Martin. He served in the army during
World War One and in World War Two with the Navy. He was a member of the
Royal Canadian Legion. Surviving besides his step-mother are; his wife, the
former Mary Hansen; three daughters, Colleen (Mrs. Francis McNeil),
Oromocto, N.B.; Mrs. Dorothy Dodswell, Canning; Roberta (Mrs. Weslie
McBride), Canning; three sons, John, Robert, both of Brookfield; Darrell,
Kingston, Ont.; four step-brothers, Vernon, Harold, Eldon, all of Parrsboro;
William, Toronto; three step-sisters, Mrs. Ellen Fitzsimmons, Mrs. Mary
Muir, both of Parrsboro; Mrs. Jane Kiltau, Burlington, Ont.; 25
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two
brothers; two sisters; and four step-brothers. The body is at H.C. Lindsay
Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St.
Lawrence Church, Canning, Rev. Gerald Saulnier officiating. Burial will be
in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations to any charity.
