Lamont Moore Allen (June 11, 1924 - January 1, 2011)

Allen, Lamont Moore "Monty" - 86, Pugwash, N.S. passed away January 1,
2011, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born June
11, 1924, in Pugwash, he was a son of the late Lamont and Bernice
(Stevens) Allen. Monty was a veteran of the Second World War and had
served in Canada, England and Europe for four years. He had worked at
the Victoria General Hospital, Hallifax, before moving back to Pugwash
where he worked as a truck driver, lobster fisherman and at the Shell
service station. Surviving are his sons, Philip (Edna), Carl (Connie),
Percy (Kathy), all of Wentworth; Roddy, Pugwash; Frankie (Vicky),
Alberta; Darrell, Truro; daughters, Virginia Langille (Alton), Wallace;
Nancy (John) Canfield, Pugwash; Betty Mattex, Digby; Dolly Smith
(Angie), New Brunswick; Bernice Allen (Lynda) Amherst; Rosemary
MacDonald (Tom), Springhill; daughter-in-law, Jackie Allen, Dartmouth;
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Cassie Sarson,
Pugwash,; Maude (Duncan) Crowell, Sheet Harbour. Besides his parents he
was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Marie Elioza "Lauza" (Miousse)
Allen; daughter, Patty; son, Gary, granddaughter, Alicia; brothers,
Lester, Ralph, Chandler, Russell, Percy, Bill and Don; sister, Mildred.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in
Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506), from where the
funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5. Rev. David
Young officiating. Burial in the Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River.
