Halifax Herald 11/18/2007 KING, Ronald Thomas Laurier - 68,
Shubenacadie, formerly of Oakfield, passed away suddenly at his home on
Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Born in Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., he
was the youngest son of the late Thomas and Elsie (Moore) (Fahey) King.
He was employed with Chappels Auto Parts in Halifax for 23 years.
Following this he was employed with the Dartmouth School Board until the
time of his retirement. He enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo with his
family and friends. He also liked fishing, four-wheeling, and working on
his property doing landscaping. Ron was always there to help his
neighbours when they needed yard work done. He also loved being with his
Westie dogs. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, the
former Sharon J. Beaumont; sons, Andy King, Shubenacadie; Randy King
(Judy), Lantz; Collin King (Rhonda), Lantz; daughter, Tammy Michaud
(Dwight), Elmsdale; foster daughter, Heaven, at home; a large number of
other foster children; grandchildren, Dan, Andre, Emily, Luc, Brandy,
and special son-in-law, Laurent Michaud. Ron will also be missed by his
brother, Eddie King (Donna), Wallace; sisters, Brenda Price (Ivor),
French Fort Road, P.E.I.; Marcia Mattinson (Ivan), Lawrencetown;
half-brother, Douglas Fahey (Pauline), Fountain Road, Cumberland Co.;
half-sisters, Vera Mayne, Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., and Bernice
Trenholm, Pugwash. He was predeceased by half-brother, John Fahey, and
half-sister, Dorothy Dobson. This very kind, quiet and gentle man will
be sadly missed by all. Cremation has taken place. There will be no
visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 19, at 2
p.m. in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, with Pastor Bob
Barnes officiating. Donations to a charity of your choice would be
