OBITUARY: Charles Medley Cochrane
New Minas - Charles Medley Cochrane, 90, of 1043 Alders Avenue, New Minas,
died Monday in Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville. Born in Fox
River, he was a son of the late Charles and Evangeline (Walton) Cochran. He
was a sawmill operator for several years. He was an adherent of the Church
of England. Surviving are his former wife, the former Gertrude McAloney;
three sons, Sidney and Lawrence, both of New Minas; and Clayton, Moncton,
N.B.; two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Hilbert Fisher), New Minas; and Eileen,
at home; a sister, Mrs. Georgie Ross, Saint John, N.B.; eleven grandchildren
and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Leota
McCully; two brothers, Percy and William; and a great grandchild. The body
is in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville, where funeral will be 2 p.m.
Friday, Rev. David Reid and Rev. Byron Fenwick officiating, with burial in
Parrsboro Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to any charity.

OBITUARY:
Cochrane, A. Gertrude - 83, 1043 Alders Avenue, New Minas, formerly of
Parrsboro, died Tuesday at Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hattie
(MacAloney) MacAloney. She was a member of St. James Anglican Church,
Kentville. She was a Parrsboro resident for 63 years before moving to New
Minas. She is survived by three sons, Clayton, Moncton; Sydney, New Minas;
Lawrence, Parrsboro; two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Hilbert Fisher), Eileen,
both of New Minas; two brothers, Edward, Cecil, both of Parrsboro; two
sisters, Vivian Yorke, Margaret Michaub, both of Parrsboro; 12
grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband,
Medley; an infant son; a brother, Lloyd; a sister, Gladys; a great
grandchild. The body is at H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Kentville, where
funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. Jack Tattrie and Rev. Ida Armstrong
Whitehouse officiating. Spring burial will be in Parrsboro. Rebeccah Lodge
service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home. Donations may
be made to any charity.
