Obit: HOLLIS, Cecil Adam

Hollis, Cecil Adam - 94, Truro passed away peacefully in his sleep on
December 30, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Port
Howe, he was a son of the late Samuel W. and Elizabeth (Smith) Hollis.
Cecil was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is
survived by his daughter, Kathy Ann Bessette and son-in-law, Tony
Bessette, Hilden; grandchildren, Craig, Kirk and Katelyn; several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Mae (MacGillivary)
Hollis; sister, Lucy Sandford; brothers, Oakley and Layton Hollis and
Courtney in infancy. Cecil worked as an aircraft technician specializing
in hydraulics. He retired from IMP at Halifax International Airport.
After retirement, yard sales became his passion and he enjoyed looking
for deals until he turned 90. No formal funeral service will be held.
All are invited to attend a gathering of family and friends to celebrate
Cecil's life which will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 6-8 pm
in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro.
