Primrose Hicks 1918-2010
*Primrose Hicks*, age 92, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at the East
Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Born in
Sunnyside England, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Nellie
(Read) Harvey. Primrose loved her family. She was an avid
fisherperson. She enjoyed life, always carrying on and spending time
with friends, family, animals and nature.
She will be sadly missed by her sons Laurie (Lucy), Amherst, Bobby
(Maddie), BC, Hugh (Michele), Brantford, ON, Daniel (Joan),
Point-Du-Chene, NB, Bill (Louise), Brantford, ON; daughters Cindy
(Alex) Lusby, Betty (Lloyd) Babineau, both of Amherst, Sheila Berry,
Quinnell, BC; 21 Grandchildren; numerous great and great great
grandchildren. She was predeceased by her spouse Robert McKenna, son
Gordon, twin sister Joyce, brothers Ted and Bid. Cremation has taken
place under the direction of Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St.,
Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where a memorial service will be held on
Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11 am. Those wishing to make a donation in
Primrose's memory may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Many
thanks to the Doctors and Staff of the East Cumberland Lodge for their

I have her son Laurie Hicks married to Lucy Travis, d/o Charles W Travis
& Mae Porter (d/o Fred Porter & Lucy Alice Wasson of Parrsboro).

Does anyone have her husband as "Robert McKenna Hicks" or was she
married to a Hicks before Robert? Thanks!

"Quinell" is likely meant to be "Quesnel", BC.
