Obit: PYE, Marni Rochelle [née BLAIKIE]

Marni Rochelle Pye (August 2, 1977 - December 22, 2010)
Pye, Marni Rochelle - 33, Wallace, Cumberland County, died Wednesday,
December 22, in Wallace Bridge as the result of a motor vehicle
accident. Born in Pugwash, she was a daughter of N.Coleen (Coulter)
Whitford, Moncton, and the late D. Ralph Blaikie. Marni graduated from
North Colchester High School in 1995 and was the recipient of The Queen
Elizabeth Medal. She graduated with first place honors while obtaining
her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Atlantic Baptist University in
1999, and after a few years away from studies graduated in 2007 with her
Bachelor of Education Degree. Following this she taught in several
schools throughout the local area and was presently employed at the
Northport Elementary School. At the time of her death she was also
serving as the Vice President of Economic Welfare for the Nova Scotia
Teachers Union. Marni was an accomplished musician, a member of The
Meeting Place, Pugwash and a faithful servant of The Lord. Besides her
mother, she is survived by her husband, Andrew L. Pye; brother, Marc
(Jill) Blaikie, Wallace; step-son, Nathanael Pye, Pugwash; paternal
grandmother, Jean Blaikie, Wallace; maternal grandmother, Jewell
Coulter, Malagash; step-mother, Gail (Patriquin) Blaikie, Bible Hill;
step-brother, Jamie Brown, Bible Hill; step-sister, Melissa (Fraser)
MacQuarrie, Valley, Col. Co.. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. Monday, December 27, in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St.,
(243-2788). The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December
28, in St. John's United Church, Wallace. Rev. Chris MacDormand
officiating. Burial in the Monument Hill Cemetery, Richmond. In lieu of
flowers donations may be made to The Meeting Place, Pugwash or the Ralph
Blaikie Memorial Scholarship Fund. Private condolences may be sent to
