Hi Dave,
When I posted the obituary for Charles McGuire, I transcribed only the "family stuff". Because he is of interest to you, here is the complete transcription:
Aug 17, 1982 Toronto Star:
Charles McGuire, Jesuit priest, school director
A funeral mass will be held tonight for Rev. Charles McGuire, a Jesuit priest. Born in 1905 at Springhill, N.S., McGuire attended high school there, then moved to Ottawa where he worked for Canadian Press as a telegrapher. At the age of 24, McGuire entered the Society of Jesus and began his studies for that order. He took his classical studies at Ignatius College Guelph. McGuire also studied at the University of Toronto, at Valkenburg in Holland, and in Milltown Park near Dublin, Ireland.
He was ordained a priest in 1940 and spent seven years teaching at St. Paul’s College in Winnipeg. In 1950, McGuire became director of the Catholic Labor Relations School in Toronto, a position he held until 1970 when the school closed down. The school comprised members who worked with labor unions and management.
McGuire who died on Saturday at age 77, while visiting his family in Nova Scotia, worked until his death. From 1978 until this year, he was chaplain at the Marycrest Senior Citizen’s Home in Peterborough.
