OBITUARY - Percy A.L. Foote
Parrsboro - The death of Percy A.L. Foote of Saint Martins Road occurred in
the Saint John General Hospital, Saturday, July 23, following a brief
illness. He was 72 years of age. Mr. Foote was born at Brookline, Mass., a
son of the late Edwin and Jennie (Wetmore) Foote. He was a resident of the
Saint John area for the past 46 years and was for a number of years operated
a fuel business in the north end of the city. He is survived by his wife,
the former Muriel Irene Llewellyn of Parrsboro; nine sons, Melvin, Ellis,
Shirley, Donald, Merle and Douglas, all of Saint John; Sheldon and Nelson,
both at home; and Allison, of Jonquiere, P.Q.; seven daughters, Mrs. Halvor
Hanson, Saint John; Mrs. Joseph Tremblay, Jonquiere, Que.; Mrs. Howard
Russell, Vancouver; Mrs. Wallace Everett, Oakville, Ont.; Mrs. Howard
Ruttan, Downsview, Ont.; Mrs. Bud Merrick, Ottawa; and Miss Kathleen Foote,
at home; one brother, Frank Foote, Waltham. Mass.; 38 grandchildren; one
great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Services were from Brennan's
Funeral Home. Interment took place in Greenwood Cemetery.

OBITUARY - Mrs. P.A.L. Foote
Parrsboro - Many relatives and friends will be saddened to learn of the
death of Muriel I. Foote, widow of Percy A.L. Foote, which occurred Saturday
at the home of a son, Shirley Foote, 47 Simonds Street, Saint John. She was
in her 66th year. Mrs. Foote was born at Parrsboro, N.S., a daughter of the
late John and Elizabeth (Winters) Llewelyn. She had been a resident of Saint
John for 45 years and resided in the north end district for many years
before moving to the St. Martins district seven years ago. Mrs. Foote is
survived by nine sons, Melvin, Ellis, Shirley, Donald, Merle and Douglas,
all of Saint John; Sheldon and Nelson, at home; and Allison, of Kenogamie,
P.Q.; seven daughters, Mrs. Halvor Hanson, Saint John; Mrs. Joseph Tremblay,
Kenogamie, Que.; Mrs. Howard Russell, Vancouver; Mrs. Wallace Everett,
Oakville, Ont.; Mrs. Howard Ruttan, Toronto; Mrs. Bud Merrick, Ottawa; and
Miss Kathleen Foote, at home; one brother, James Llewelyn, Parrsboro, N.S.;
two sisters, Mrs. Vernita Willigar, Linden, N.J., and Mrs. Salome Matson, of
Parrsboro; thirty grandchildren and one great grandchild; also several
nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Brennan's Funeral Home, South
Brook, from where the funeral was held Tuesday with service at 3 p.m. Rev.
H. Quinn was in charge. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
