FUNERAL: Mrs. Merton Henwood
The death of Mrs. Merton Henwood, wife of Merton G. Henwood, occurred at the
South Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Parrsboro on Friday, November 24. Mrs.
Henwood was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George DeMille and was
born at Lakelands in 1892. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her
passing, are brother, Earl DeMille of Amherst; two sons, Stanley and Wylie;
three daughters, Muriel (Mrs. Thornton MacAloney); Eileen (Mrs. Robert
Collins); Shirley (Mrs. Norris Forbes). There are seven grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mrs. Henwood was held from her home with Rev. D. Carlin
officiating. The choir, with Mrs. Ernest Harriison as organist, sang the
favorite hymns of the deceased; "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus", In The Garden"
and "Abide With Me". The pallbearers were: Max Gilbert, Ernest Harrison,
Laurie Hanna and Gervin Skidmore. Interment was in the United Cemetery,
Parrsboro. The many floral tributes were silent tokens of the high esteem
for Mrs. Henwood by friends and neighbors.
