Mrs. Margaret Jean Curry August 18, 1919 - September 17, 2010





It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret Jean Curry age
91, of Amherst announce her passing on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Gables
Lodge, Amherst, NS surrounded by her family. Born in Sackville, NB, she was
a daughter of the late Louis and Minnie (O’Blenis) Estabrooks. Margaret was
a member of the IODE in Amherst in her earlier years. She enjoyed bowling,
skating and dancing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and
great great grandmother who devoted her whole life to her family. Margaret
was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by
four daughters Barb Gould, Linda (Jim) Hawkes and Carol (Bill) Crossman all
of Amherst and Diane Fitzgerald of Cocagne, NB and four sons Doug (Betty) of
Wentworth, John of London, ON, Wayne (Marilyn) of Elmira, ON and Gary
(Sharon) of Grand Bend, ON, 22 grandchildren, several great grandchildren
and 7 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was
predeceased by her husband John, granddaughter Sharon Ann Gould, sisters
Susie, Martha, Bertha, Eva and Hazel, brothers Stanley and Stephen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, (667-9906). Funeral
service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. from Campbell’s Chapel with Rev.
Byron Corkum officiating. Memorial donations in Margaret’s memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation of Canada or the
