Pat, Laura is with her parents on the 1901 census in Springhill under her
maiden name.
Good luck with your mystery, it has baffled me for years as well. But you
have way more info then I ever had.
The same problem is for Roderick's sister, Catherine McLeod who married
Malcolm Nicholson 17 July 1888. They were also listed as having children,
but no children are on the 1891 census with widowed Kate. A Dan McLeod is
though. Dan McLeod, son of Rory and Mary of Inverness co., married 28 year
old Lexina McLeod of Pictou 11 July 1891.
