OBITUARY: Mrs. Elizabeth Berry
Parrsboro, May 17 - Mrs. Elizabeth Berry, 65, died suddenly at her home on
Mountain Road, Tuesday, April 25. She was born at Halfway River, and in 1904
at Parrsboro, she became the bride of William Berry, who died in 1943. For
years, Mr. and Mrs. Berry lived at New Prospect on the outskirts of
Parrsboro, until they were forced to leave the farm in 11941, due to Mr.
Berry's ill health. They moved to Oxford Junction where Mr. Berry passed
away in 1943. For the past two years Mrs. Berry has made her home on
Mountain Road. She is survived by two children, Ann, Moncton; and Max, River
Philip. Other survivors include her sister, Mr. [sic Mrs.] M.D. Feener and
Mrs. Charles Walker, Stewiacke; Mrs. N. Veniot, Oxford Junction; Mrs. G.W.
Coady, Cleveland, Ohio; and two brothers, Gordon and William Pettigrew of
Halfway River. Funeral services were held from the home Friday, April 28,
services being taken by Rev. James Leadbetter of St. Andrew's United Church.
Interment was in the Parrsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Allen Fowler,
John Whitewood, Stanley Whitewood, Herbert Spence, Springhill; Ottis Ross
and James Morris of Oxford Junction.
