CANNING, Georgena F. - 96, Diligent River, Cumberland Co., died [Thursday] October 25, 2001, in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Diligent River, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Bessie (Vickery) Salter. Surviving are son, Arley (Patsy), Parrsboro; daughter, Lorna; sister, Sarah Lamb, both of Diligent River; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Morton; daughter, Hazel; sister, Alice. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Jeffrey White officiating. Burial in Parrsboro United Cemetery. Memorial donations to the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro, or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
