OBITUARY: Mrs. Madeline Louise Rector
Mrs. Madeline Louise Rector of Southampton passed away on September 29, 1965
at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax. She was 45 years of age. Although
she had been in poor health for some time, her death came as a shock to her
family and friends. Born in Port Greville, she was the daughter of Mrs. Fred
McCilley and the late Fred McCulley. Surviving her passing are her mother,
of Parrsboro; her husband, Robert; children, Charles of Fredericton; Shirley
(Mrs. Robert Sterling) of Ont.; Fred of Southampton; and nine-year-old twin
girls, Doreen and Darlene; three grandchildren; a sister, Ellen (Mrs. Arthur
Banfield) Parrsboro; and a brother, Lawson McCulley of Liverpool, N.S. A
brother, Dewelton, passed away 28 years ago. The deceased moved to Parrsboro
during her childhood and received her education here. She lived in Parrsboro
most of her life. The funeral service was held from Smith's Funeral Home on
October 2 at 2:30 with the Rev. H.D. Carlin officiating. Hymns were: "Abide
With Me" and "Safe In The Arms Of Jesus". Pallbearers were: Arthur Banfield,
Harold Spicer, Jim Llewellyn and Harry Smith. Interment was in the Baptist
Cemetery in Parrsboro. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
