PURDY, Milda M. - 93, Millvale, died February 13, 2010. Born in Thomson, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie Stevens. Surviving are sons, Norman, Bob; daughters, Vonetta, Beverly; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, Lewis; son, Jack; grandchild, Terry; sisters, Laila, Estella. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 12-2 p.m. Tuesday in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St., with funeral at 2 p.m. www.allenfuneralhome.ca

Milda M Purdy 1916-2010
Milda M. Purdy, age 93, of Millvale, passed away peacefully at the Gables Lodge, Amherst, on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Born in Thomson, NS, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (Thompson) Stevens. Milda loved her family, and spending time in her garden.
She will be sadly missed by sons; Norman (Elsie) Stevens, Wolfville, Bob (Jean), Millvale; daughters Vonetta (John) Chouinard, Millvale, Beverly Halliday, Williamsdale; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis; her son Jack; grandchild Terry; sisters Laila Stonehouse and Estella Stevens. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, (902) 447-2167. Cremation has taken place. Due to renovations currently taking place at W Allen Funeral Home all services will be held in Springhill at A H Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane St. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from noon until 2 pm at which time the Memorial Service will take place, Rev. Ruth Gamble officiating. Burial will take place in the Millvale Cemetery in the spring. Those wishing to make a donation in Milda's memory may do so to the L A Animal Shelter, or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend deepest thanks to the staff at Gables Lodge and Dr. McCrossin for their wonderful care and attention to Nana Purdy.
