Kathleen Fraser-Wade passes away at 103 yrs.
FRASER-WADE, Kathleen "Kay" - Passed away peacefully in Shiretown Nursing Home in Pictou, on Friday at the age of 103. Born in Springhill, Kay was the only daughter of the late Gardiner and Jessie (Ward) Fraser. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jack, Herb, and husband George. Kay's longevity is a testament to a life fuelled by love for family, unparalleled kindness and stewardship. Her name was a byword among the women of Moncton N.B. Having received Corsetiere's diplomas from the Gossard & Camp training schools, she spent 39 years with J.D. Creaghan's Dept. store in Moncton, N.B.; managing, buying and fitting undergarments while attending to surgical fittings at the request of doctors and hospital patients in the city. While passionate about her chosen career, Kay was a much beloved daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. She devoted the majority of her life to caring for the needs of others, in particular her aunt, Nettie (Fraser) Tuttle. Kay was an accomplished chef, seamstress and gardener. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of these pursuits will always be remembered with much joy by those that knew her. Numerous relatives mourn her passing including her devoted sister-in-law, Mrs. (Herb) Eleanor (Fox) Fraser; nephews, Doug, Harry (Sharon); nieces, Diane (Barry), Patricia (late Andy Allen) and great-nephews, Luke, Jake and Ben. Her family extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Shiretown Nursing Home who brought much kindness, love and laughter in to Kay's daily life these past years. A memorial service commemorating her spirit will be held in the spring, at the time of her burial, in Moncton N.B. Condolences in care of: www.rhporter.ca
