Her father was Edward Perley Thompson b 1889 South Victoria, Cumberland, NS d 1967 Truro, NS. Her mother is a cousin of mine on my non-Cumberland side!

FLEET, Ora Blanche - 77, Elmsdale passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Elmsdale, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Maggie (Keyes) Thompson. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Branch No. 55 Elmsdale. Ora worked at Cara Flight Kitchens at the Halifax Airport for over 20 years before retiring. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Bubbie". She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Margaret (Rick) Logan; son, Joe; grandchildren, Holly (Nicholas); Courtney (Brandon); grandsons, Cody and Kyle, all of Elmsdale; sister, Rhoda (Harold) Rogers, Stewiacke; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; sisters, Verna Gilby and Anita Thompson; brothers, Garnet, Robie, Earl, Merlin, and Laurie Thompson. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie (758-3259). There will be no visitation or funeral service at Ora's request. A private family burial will take place in Ecum Secum at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
