Hi Dave,
Thanks for letting me know about the newspapers on microfilm. I guess in
spoilt here in Victoria. Victorias newspaper, The British Colonist
began publication in Dec 1858 and is available on line free of charge up
until 1910, after that you have to view it at the public library.

Hi Pam:
Sorry. From my experience, few obits, as we know them today, were published
back in that time frame. The Parrsboro Records on Microfilm at NSARM start
late 1929 and go to the early 60¹s with much of the 1950¹s missing. There
were still many local people in the Parrsboro area who died between 1930 and
1960 and didn¹t have an obit published in the Parrsboro Record.
