OBITUARY: Roland Brown
Springhill (Special) - Friends of Roland Brown learned with regret of his
sudden death which occurred in All Saint's Hospital Thursday morning. Mr.
Brown, who was at work in the mines Wednesday, went into the hospital
Thursday for a cardiograph and died of a heart attack. He was the son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Brown and was born in Athol, Cumberland County, 49
years ago. Surviving besides his widow, who was the former Mary Katherine
Chambers of Springhill, is his daughter, Rose, student nurse at the Aberdeen
Hospital, New Glasgow; and one son, Fraser, a high school student. Also
surviving is one brother, Edgar of Athol. Funeral arrangements have not yet
been completed.

FUNERAL: Roland Brown
Springhill (Special) - The funeral of the late Roland Brown was held Sunday
afternoon from his late residence on Woolsley Street, with the service
beginning at 3 o'clock. The Rev. William M. Knickle, rector of All Saint's
Anglican Church, conducted the service and was assisted by the Senior Choir.
The hymns sung were: "Breathe On My Breath Of God" and "The Twenty Third
Psalm". The many floral tributes and other expressions of sympathy testified
to the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. Mr. Brown's
death , which occurred in All Saint's Hospital, Thursday morning came as a
great shock to his family and friends. The pallbearers were: Raymond
Harrison, John Halloway, Douglas Beaton, Alan Hayward, Lloyd Casey, Reginald
Gibson. Interment in Hillside Cemetery.
