SIMMS, Malcolm - The death of Malcolm Simms, age 82, of Maccan, and formerly of Hubbards, occurred in Gable's Lodge, Amherst on Sunday, January 10, 2010. Born in Simm's Settlement, he was a son of the late Earl and Vivian (Jollimore) Simms. A self-employed carpenter, he spent his life in the Hubbards area, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Anglican Church. Malcolm is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Demont), Maccan; brothers, Albert (Dinah), Hubbards, and Ronald (Doris), Halifax; Welsley, Middleton; sister, Carol Simms, Dartmouth; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, George and Gordon and sister, Julie. Cremation has taken place under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777). At Malcolm's request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Burial will occur in Amherst Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be gratefully appreciated.
