OBITUARY: Roger G. McAloney
Parrsboro - Roger G. McAloney, 66, of Parrsboro, died Thursday in the
Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Parrsboro, he was son of Gordon and
Elizabeth (Barrett) McAloney. He operated Irving Oil distribution plant in
Parrsboro for five years. He was also a partner in the McAloney and Willigar
Garage for 20 years and operated McAloney Blueberry Farms at Bridgeville,
Pictou County for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Bertha
Boss; three daughters, Helen and Geraldine (Mrs. Marshton Morris), both of
Parrsboro; and Elizabeth (Mrs. Leigh York), Five Islands; one son, Roger,
Westville; one brother, Archie, Quincey, Mass; and five grandchildren. The
body is in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service will be Saturday
at 2 p.m. In Trinity United Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Parker Matheson
officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be
made to the Canadian Heart Fund.

His Wife, Bertha Isobelle Boss:

McALONEY, Bertha I. - 85, Parrsboro, passed away Saturday, February 24,
2007, in Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Springhill, she was a
daughter of the late Lloyd and Violetta (McCormick) Boss. She is survived by
daughters, Geraldine Morris (Marsten), Parrsboro; Elizabeth Yorke (Leigh),
Lower Five Islands; Helen, Parrsboro; son, Roger (Susan), Westville; sister,
Helen, London, Ont.; brother, Hallie, Richmond Hill, Ont.; six
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her
husband, Roger; sisters, Evelyn, Marie, Della; brothers, Percy, Ronald,
Hilton; grandchild, Edward. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral
service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Greg Doyle
officiating. Burial in Parrsboro Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations may be
