Amherst Visitor to St. John says Things are humming in his town - A $40,000
Hotel

Wm. Knight, of Amherst, is in the city at the Royal. Mr. Knight, who is a
member of the Amherst Foundry & Heating Company, told a Telegraph reporter
that the company's new premises, consisting of three large red freestone
buildings, would be ready within the next few months and they would occupy
them in June. Their present foundry will be taken over by the Maritime
Heating Company, which concern will fix up the premises for the purpose of
manufacturing the Robb heaters, the patent right of which they purchased
from the Robb Engineering Company. This company will probably not begin
operations until some time in July.

The Robb Engineering Company are building large additions to their works,
and Rhodes, Curry & Co., have also been obliged to enlarge their already
large plant.

Real estate is increasing in value by leaps and bounds, and building
operations are very extensive. The Hewson woolen mills are running and the
crackerjack manufacturing town on the border of the sister province is
experiencing the greatest wave of prosperity in its history. A company
composed of the most influential and wealthy citizens of Amherst will
shortly erect a $40,000 hotel, a thing very much needed.
