I agree this is a fascinating story, but I'm like a dog without a bone and I

A fascinating story on the origins of the Willigar family and genealogical
data can be accessed online by searching, say "Michael Nicholas Willigar"
and "Aramathea". The site no longer exists apparently but is cached on
Google.
Briefly, the author Aramathea Murdoch believes that M N Volcker from Germany
arrived in Halifax in 1751, ended up in Cumberland County where he changed
his surname to Willigar. He married Margaret Forrest in Parrsboro in 1790.
They had 7 children, one of whom is John W who married Sarah Phinney, dtr of
Francis and Sarah, in 1813. There is also data on this family at this site:
