Fw: Hants Co. Smiths

Hi Read.
This is what I have on your ancestor John Smith. He is # 13a.He would be a grand-son of Jane(Scott)Smith.I believe that Jane(Scott)Smith may have had a brother Robert Scott that was a commander at Fort Lawrence around 1755.This Robert Scott may have had a son Robert Scott. This Robert Scott had a wife named Hannah and I am wondering if she was a Read.Do you have an early Read genealogy to show if Stephen Read or his sons had a dau. named Hannah?
I received the info on John Smith and Dorothy Shipley from Kristen Read.It is the section shaded darker.
Your ancestor John Smith may have gone to Amherst in connection with his (uncle?)Robert Scott. There is a Robert Schotch listed in the 1770 Cumberland census. He is listed as Scottish and Protestant without any family listed.
Thanks for the pictures.
Bye for now,Frank
