OBITUARY: Daniel Kiley
Daniel Kiley, ex-service veteran, died at his home on Thursday evening. He
had been in failing health for some years. He leaves to mourn his loss a
wife and one young daughter. The late Mr. Kiley, though handicapped by poor
health, operated a small garage for some years. He was a valued member of
the Ivanhoe Branch No 44 of the Oddfellows Order. He was a past District
Deputy Grand Master and had been already been nominated for the chair of
Vice Grand for the ensuing year. He joined the local order in 1913, soon
after he removed to this town from the shore district. The funeral was held
on Sunday afternoon with a service at the home, conducted by Rev. W.D.
Johnson of the Baptist Church. Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery,
the burial service in charge of the Ivanhoe Lodge 44. The pallbearers were:
Basil Sheck, Harry Lavers, Graham Darning and Tom Brown.

OBITUARY: Mrs. Daniel Kieley
Parrsboro - The funeral for Hattie A. Kieley, 75, widow of Daniel Kieley,
was held at the Baptist Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Mr. Palmer officiating.
Interment was in the family lot at Cross Roads. She died at Jackson's
Nursing Home, Dartmouth after a long illness. Born in Parrsboro, she was the
daughter of the late William and Emma (Reid) Brown. She was a member of the
Baptist Church and a life long resident of Parrsboro. Surviving are a
daughter, Mrs. Alice Johnston, Toronto; one sister, Gussie (Mrs. Lewis
Dorey), Head of St. Margaret's Bay; two brothers, William, Bedford, and Ben,
Parrsboro; and three grandchildren.
