Obiturary - HAHNEN, Joseph Eugene - 62, Lynn, Mass., died April 7, 1994,
in Lynn. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Fred and Allie
(Leadbetter) Hahnen. He was educated in Springhill, where he also worked
in coal mining prior to moving to Lynn in 1957. There he became a
graduate of the local 537 apprenticeship program. He was employed as a
pipefitter for 37 years, prior to retirement in 1992. He was a
communicant of St. Mary's Church, where he was a Boy Scout leader. He
was a member of Lynn Fish and Game Club and former member of the Knights
of Columbus Council. He is survived by his wife, the former Jacqueline
Theriault; three sons, Scott, Paul, Brian, all of Lynn; two daughters,
Kathy (Mrs. Phillip Kindler), Salem, Mass.; Lisa, Chandler, Ariz.; two
brothers, Ivan, Haverhill, Mass.; James, Stellarton; sister, Nellie
(Mrs. Gerald Gilbert) of Springhill; stepmother, Mrs. Meaurita (Baker)
Hahnen, Springhill; six stepbrothers, Murray McCully, Dartmouth; William
Baker, Bridgewater; Donald Baker, Calgary, Alta.; Marvin Baker,
Kingston, Ont.; Gerald Baker, Winnipeg, Man.; Eric Baker, Prince George,
B.C.; six stepsisters, Joyce Burke, Clementsport; Noreen (Mrs. Arthur
Simons), Campbell River, B.C.; Linda (Mrs. Leo Dumphy), Port Alberni,
B.C.; Marion (Mrs. Gerald Varner), Springhill; Beverley Bowe, Kingston,
Ont.; Sharon (Mrs. Richard Campbell), Oshawa, Ont.; eight grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. Funeral was held April 9 in St. Mary's
Church, Lynn. Burial took place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem, Mass.

Stiles, Margaret Jean
STILES, Margaret Jean - 77, 101 St. Bridget St., Stellarton, formerly of
Springhill, died December 23, 1994, at home. Born in Springhill, she was
a daughter of the late William P. and Margaret (Davidson) Millar. She
was a member of St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church, Springhill. Surviving
are her daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. James Reynolds), Springhill; Elizabeth
(Mrs. Charles Carington-Smith), Delta, B.C.; Wilma (Mrs. James Hahnen),
Stellarton; sons, David, Duncan, B.C.; George, Springhill; Gordon,
Pictou; brothers, Robert, Arizona; Alexander, Amherst; 12 grandchildren;
10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clair
Easton; brothers, Penman, Cecil, William, Earl, John, Thomas; sisters,
Claudina, Dorothy, Hazel. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service
will be 2 p.m. January 2 in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, Rev.
Elroy McKillop officiating. Spring burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
