Varner, Gerald Douglas (Jerry)
VARNER, Gerald Douglas (Jerry) - 65, 1 Herrett Rd., Springhill, died
November 9, 1998, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in
Springhill, he was a son of the late Harold and Eva (Embree) Varner. He
enjoyed inventing gadgets in his garage, music and his family. Surviving
are his wife, the former Marion Meaurita Baker; sons, Steven, Laurie, Gary,
Mark, Michael, Springhill; Jamie, Kingston, Ont.; daughters, Kathy (Mrs.
Walter Brown), Linda (Mrs. William Legere), Springhill; sister, Jean (Mrs.
Dexter Symes), Amherst; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He was
predeceased by brother, Stanley. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in A.H.
Brown Funeral home, Springhill. Funeral 4 p.m. Wednesday in The Salvation
Army Citadel, Main Street, Springhill, Lieut. Michael Cumben and Lieut.
Wendy Cumben officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. Donations
to Springhill Salvation Army memorial fund.
