David,
Madeline Dorothy Johnston was the daughter of Thomas and May Johnston. She was born April 10,1918 and died Jan 19,1922.
May Beatrice Johnston died July 8,1942.
John Johnston was adopted by Thomas and his 2nd wife, Bessie Siddall.
It has been told to me that John's father was Allison Dowe of Parrsboro and that John is in his 60's and still living out west. His mother's name may be Bonnie or he has a sister named Bonnie....not sure how it goes.
I can only assume Laura was a child of Bessie's 1st marriage to John Stephen Siddall.

Clemm, Gerry & Bruce:
Thomas Alton Johnston and May Beatrice MacAloney are believed to have issue
of Alton Robert, Darrell Duncan and Madeline Johnston.
Yet in Bessie Alma (Lyman) Siddall Johnston¹s obit, there¹s a stepdaughter,
Laura (David Fowler) and a stepson, John Johnston. Stepchildren, Alton
Robert, Darrell Duncan and Madeline are accounted for.
Darrell Duncan¹s 1999 obit only refers to siblings, Alton and Madeline.
So, who¹s the mother of Laura and John????
Did Thomas Alton have a spouse/relationship in between May and Bessie,
possibly a McCully girl????
Awful to be like a dog with a bone and don¹t know where to bury it!
Dave
