didn¹t die until 1944.
Note in her obit, Meaurita Mamie acknowledges her out of wedlock son, Murray
St. Clair McCully. He was raised by his grandparents as a son and several of
her siblings refer to Murray as their brother. Gertrude¹s obit is an example

for sure.
I have Bertha¹s hubby as Roland Walter Marsh, born 1 Dec 1902, Economy;
married 1 Nov 1928, Baptist, Parrsboro.

NEWCOMBE, Gertrude M. - 99, Pier Road, Parrsboro, died Wednesday, September
19, 2001, in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Port
Greville, she was a daughter of the late Seamore and Maude (Ells) McCulley.
She is survived by daughters, Willena Schiefer and her husband Lorne, with
whom she resided in Parrsboro; June Spence, Weymouth, Mass.; son, Alvin,
London, Ont.; sisters, Carrie Legere, Amherst; Ruby Allen, Fox River;
Maurita Hahnen, Springhill; ***brothers, Murray, Dartmouth***; Wilfred,
Saint John; six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin;
daughters, Caroline and Ferne; sisters, Gleta, Winnie, Bertha; brothers,
Brenton, Lorne, Emerson, Harold, Trueman, Thornton. Visitation will be 7-9
p.m. today in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be
held 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Robert Richmond officiating. Burial in St.
George's Anglican Cemetery, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to
South Cumberland Community Care Centre Adult Daycare Program, Parrsboro.
