HAHNEN, Meaurita Mamie - 94, 22 Elgin St., Springhill, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Nappan. Born in Wards Brook, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late Seymoure and Leona Maude (Ells) McCully. She was a member of St. Andrew's Wesley United Church, Springhill. She is survived by sons, William (Dot), Gold River; Murray (Caroline), Dartmouth; Donald (Jo Ann), Calgary, Alta.; Marvin (Marie), Kingston, Ont.; Gerald (Jolanka), Winnipeg, Man.; Eric (Joan), Prince George, B.C.; James (Wilma), Stellarton; daughters, Joyce Burke, Yarmouth; Noreen (Arthur) Simons, Campbell River, B.C.; Marion Varner, Springhill; Beverly Bowe, Kingston, Ont.; Linda (Leo) Dunphy, Port Alberni, B.C.; Sharon (Richard) Campbell, Oshawa, Ont.; stepdaughter, Nellie (Gerald) Gilbert, Springhill; sister, Ruby Allen, Advocate, Cumberland Co.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Hahnen, and her first husband, John Lawrence Baker; stepsons, Frederick Hahnen and Joseph Hahnen; brothers, Lorne, Emerson, Harold, Thornton, Brenton, and Trueman; sisters, Carrie, Gertrude, Winnie, Gletta, and Bertha; two grandchildren. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill, from where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, with Rev. Danny Compton officiating and Captain Catherine Young assisting. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill. If so desired, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
