HARRISON, Marie - Age 80 of Amherst, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 9, 2009, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Bavily and Elizabeth (Bryenton) White. In her working career, she was employed with Waldale Ltd. from where she retired as manager of the Record Department and later worked as a blueberry contractor for Hoeg Bros. Marie enjoyed bingo, crib, painting, gardening and had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Velcro. She was a member of Immanuel United Church, Amherst, where she was involved with the UCW. Marie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Linda (Aldo) Angelini of LaSalle, Que.; Bill (Lynn) Harrison of Winnipeg, Man.; Beverly (Glen) Knowlton of Advocate; Bob (Ann) Harrison of Williamsdale; Viola Harrison of Middle Sackville; and Mark (Vicki) Harrison of Amherst; sister, Viola Kastel of Mount Whatley, N.B.; grandchildren, Lee, Lise, Kristen, Steven, Joey, Jeremy, Mitzie, Jeremy, Lyndsey, and Michael; great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph (1974); daughter in infancy, Joanne; brothers, Frederick and Bavily Jr.; and sister, Mae White. Cremation has taken place under the care of Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst (667-9906). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, at 4 p.m. from Immanuel United Church, Amherst, with Rev. Lloyd Bruce officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Amherst Cemetery.
