OBITUARY

The death of Thomas AMON occurred late Monday night at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. Ernest Gould, 16 Highfield Street, after an illness of
some months. Mr. Amon was 73 years of age, and had been a resident of
Springhill for many years, where he was employed in the mines. He was a
strong support of the Springhill baseball club. His wife passed away
twenty-six years ago at River Hebert. He is survived by six daughters
and one son. The daughters are Mrs. Paul Landry and Mrs. Philip Landry,
both of River Hebert, Mrs. Lloyd Downey, Mrs. Laurie Carter, Mrs. Ernest
Gould and Mrs. John Gould, all of Amherst; the son is Arthur Amon of
Springhill. There also survives one sister, Mrs. Purdy Moore of
Springhill and two brothers William of Amherst and Merton of Staten
Island, N.Y. A daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Belliveau, predeceased him twenty
years ago. The funeral service will be held from 12 Highfield Street,
