FORBES, Walter H - 83, New Prospect, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2005, in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Little Dyke, Colchester Co., he was the son of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (Perrin) Forbes. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the Provost Corps of the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a bus driver for Acadian Lines and later drove oil delivery trucks for Irving Oil. He also worked with the maintenance department for NBCC in Saint John. He was a member of Legion Branch No. 45, Parrsboro. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former ***Bernice Lewis****; daughter, Gwen (Mike), St. Martin's, N.B.; sons, Ronald (Irene), Mactier, Ont.; Darrell (Maria), Prince George, B.C.; Harlan (Sandra), Oshawa, Ont.; Glendon (Elva), Parrsboro; Stephen (Marina), Parrsboro; daughter-in- law, Joan, New Prospect; grandchildren, Timothy, James, Tammy, Todd, Robert, Kelly, Darren, Darlene, Eli, Charlene, Jamie; 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Bruce; sisters, Vilda, Viola; brothers, Cecil, Wallace. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Burial in Parrsboro Baptist Cemetery.
