Passes away at Fox River Mrs. Annie Kerr, Fox River - The community lost one
of its oldest, and esteemed residents with the passing of Mrs. Annie Kerr on
March 26 1956, following a lengthy illness. Born September 4th 1867, at Fox
River, she was the daughter of Moses and Elizabeth Hatfield, and had
resided here most of her life. Until her illness, she took a keen interest
in community affairs, with special interest in the United Church of which
she was a devoted, active member. She was president of the Ladies' Aid
Society for a great number of years. Active in the Women's Missionary
Society, she was made a life member of the organization. For many years
years she was a member of the Pythian Sisters, and also seemed to thoroughly
enjoy the social life of the community. Her husband Captain Robert Kerr,
predeceased her 21 years ago. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. K.J.
Cochrane, two grandchildren, Mrs. Leonard Nelson and Robert Cochrane, also
two great grand children, Gwendolyn and Judith Nelson.. Funeral services was
held Good Friday afternoon at two o'clock in the United Church conducted by
Rev. Douglas Gass, of Parrsboro. Interment was in the United Church
Cemetery.
