PORT GREVILLE -- March 3 [1928]
At an early hour Friday morning at her home in Fox River, Mrs. Amanda Kerr,
another of the old residents of this place, passed to rest. Mrs. Kerr was
the widow of Capt. Eben[ezer] Kerr, who preceded her some four years ago
[about Jul 1925]. She was born in Port Greville, 84 years ago, daughter of
the late Elisha and Hannah Pettis and was the last member of a large family.
The deceased was a women of gentle disposition and during her life was the
type of true Christian women in every respect. She leaves to mourn one
daughter, Miss Minnie, who tenderly cared for her during her long illness,
three sons, Captain Robert S., of Fox River, Wilfred of Blue Lake,
California and Harris, in the American West. The funeral will be held
Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. A. Hart of the United Church, of
which the deceased was a faithful member.
