Pictou County, N.S.

OBITUARY
McCabe, Lillian M. - 90, Wolfville, formerly of Oxford, Cumberland County,
died Thursday, December 10, 1998 in Wolfville Nursing Home. She was a
daughter of the late Norman S. and Florence (Hayward) Blakley, and foster
daughter of the late Robert E. and Elizabeth (Hayward) Fawcett. She
graduated from Sackville High School in 1925 and from Mount Allison
Commercial College in 1926. She was an active member and supporter of the
United Baptist Church in those maritime communities in which she lived, and
was church organist in Maccan during the 40's, New Glasgow during the 50's
and 60's and Oxford during the 70's and early 80's. She was a life member of
the United Baptist Women's Missionary Fellowship and a founding member of
the Oxford Pioneer Heritage Club, for which she served as secretary for more
than a decade. Surviving are sons, Charles and wife Lorraine, Ottawa;
Malcolm and wife Sandra, Fredericton; a daughter, Jo-Ann and husband Eric
Cox, New Minas; grandchildren, Cynthia (Mrs. Robert Judd), Tracy (Mrs.
Robert White), both of Ottawa; Leslie (Mrs. Blair Cribb), Karen Cox, both of
Toronto; Cathy Cox, Aachen, Germany; Kevin Cox, Lake Louise, Alb.; Adam Cox,
Kate Cox, both of Fredericton; two granddaughters, Allyson Judd and Erin
Judd, Ottawa. She was predeceased by her husband, John M. McCabe; brothers,
Norman Blakley and Austin Blakley; sisters, Myrtle Graham, Annie Embleton,
Winnifred Embleton and Myrna Totten; foster brother, Robert Fawcett, foster
sister, Shirley Crowden. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be
Monday, December 14, at 1 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2 p.m., both
in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, 7075 Main Street, Oxford, with Rev. Kevin
Smith officiating. Donations may be made to Oxford United Baptist Church.

""Newspaper misprint; Adam Cox and Kate Cox mentioned in the above obit. are
McCabe, children of John Malcolm McCabe and not of Eric Alfred Cox. Also,
Allysion Judd and Erin Judd are listed as granddaughters, when in fact they
should be great-granddaughters.
