OBITUARY: James Wm. Shipley
The death of James William Shipley occurred at Saint John, N.B. On Tuesday,
March 17th. Born at Parrsboro, he had been a resident of Saint John for some
years. A painter and decorator by trade, he recently was employed with the
firm of Canada Veneers Ltd. Mr. Shipley is survived by four sons, Charles
F., Albert R. and James E., of Saint John; and William H., of Weymouth,
Mass.; three daughters, Mrs. E. Marks, of New York City; Mrs. B. Cancell, of
Riverside, New York; and Mrs. Eva M. Shipley, New York City; and by one
brother, Edward S. Shipley, of Truro. A funeral service was held on
Wednesday evening at the residence of the deceased son, James W. Shipley, 40
St. Patrick Street, and on Thursday the remains were brought to Parrsboro,
accompanied by the three sons, Charles, Albert and James Shipley. The
funeral service here was conducted by Rev. W.H. Rackham, pastor of Trinity
Church, and interment was made in the family lot.
