DeVILLE, Martha T - Halifax, passed away peacefully December 29, 2008, in Northwood Center. Born in Harpellville, Guysborough Co., she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Teressa (Harpell) Kaiser. She was the only daughter and last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by son, Ralph (Esther), Parrsboro; daughter, Sheila of Halifax; grandchildren, Mark (Jocelynne), Edson, Alta.; Faye (Shawn), Daphne, Ala.; Rick and Tanya; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Daphne, Ala.; Josh and Jessie, Halifax. Martha was predeceased by husband, Clyde Burton; daughter, Sylvia; foster sister, Nancy Hayter and foster brother, Harry Surette. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service is 10 a.m. today (Wednesday December 31, 2008), in Cruikshank's Funeral Home, 2032 Robie St., Halifax. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff of Northwood Centre. This may be viewed at: www.mem.com
