The body of Capt. Thomas CARROLL of parrsboro, N.S. who drowned off Minudie about three weeks ago, was found Tuesday morn. in the little creek near O'Brien's shipyard, Maccan River. The jury returned a verdict of drowning by being knocked overboard by the mainsail of schr. "Nota Bene", Sept. 22nd. Capt. KING, of parrsboro, who saw the accident through a glass at the distance of half a mile, gave evidence at the inquest. (adjacent column:) He was one time Councillor for No. 11 District parrsboro. He was a s/o Francis CARROLL, Esq; left wife, three daughters and three sisters

Fears are entertained for the safety of the schooners "Star", Capt. Dryden and "Marie Delphine", Capt. Ogilvie, both from parrsboro, N.S., heavily laden with coal, which left for St. John in last Friday's severe storm. The schooner "Gazelle" was in company with them Friday morn. but headed for Queen for a harbour and reached St. John Sunsay eve. The other two have not since been heard from, The "Star" is owned by Capt. DRYDEN and has a crew, Daniel DESMOND, age 17 of parrsboro, an Irishman and a lad belonging to Springhill. The "Marie Delphine" has on board beside Capt. OGILVIE, Arthur REMOND, age 20; Samuel REDMOND, age 17 and Norris OGILVIE, age 22, all of parrsboro. The register of the "Marie Delphine" was transferred from Quebec City to Sackville in May 1891.

The 'Leader' says that by the death of John William JENKS on Tuesday morn., parrsboro, N.S. lost one of its most esteemed citizens. Mr. Jenks was born at Halfway River and was a son of Lewis JENKS, Crown Land Surveyor. He came to parrsboro as a merchant about 1860 and was appointed Postmaster in 1874.

parrsboro, N.S., Feb. 19 - The funeral of Elisha A. MORSE, who died suddenly on the ferry boat at St. John last Friday, took place at parrsboro, Wednesday. Mr. Morse had just returned from a visit to his sister-in-law at St. Stephen, whom he had not seen for twenty years. He was a native of Massachusetts and 66 years of age. His wife died about nine months ago.

A parrsboro, N.S. correspondent writing yesterday says 'A sad accident occurred on the Cumberland Coal and Railway Company's line Saturday last. George CHAPMAN, a brakeman, was engaged coupling cars when by some means he got caught and before he could be released, was so severely crushed that he died at his home in parrsboro on Sunday. He was the only son of a widow and engaged to be married next month.

The remains of Capt. James BROWN, formerly of parrsboro, N.S., but lately of Oxford, were brought here by train on Saturday and interred in the Baptist Cemetery the same eve. The remains of Thomas McCOY, who died Friday in the Dorchester Penitentiary, were brought here by the same train and were buried in the Presbyterian cemetery on Sunday. - parrsboro 'Leader'

James LAMB of Diligent River, parrsboro, N.S., who was mate of the three master schooner "Walleda", died in New York suddenly Tuesday last. The deceased had been suffering from lung disease. He leaves a widow and one son. The body was brought home for interment in parrsboro.
