OBITUARY: Mrs. Vincent R. McNeil
Mrs. Kathleen McNeil, wife of Vincent R. McNeil of Salem, Mass., passed away
at South Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Parrsboro on Friday, December 2nd.
She had been visiting at her former home in Parrsboro since September and
ill health had prevented her from returning to her home in Salem.Forty-four
years of age, Mrs. McNeil was the daughter of Mrs. Mayford Phinney and the
late Mr. Phinney of Parrsboro. She had been residing in Massachusetts for
the past twenty-three years. Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Vincent
R. McNeil; two sons and two daughters, Vincent R. Jr.; Robert E.; Mrs.
Jeanette G. Thomas; and Shirley Ann McNeil, all of Salem, Mass. Mrs.
Jeanette Thomas came to Parrsboro to attend her mother's funeral. Also
surviving are her mother, Mrs. Mayford Phinney; four brothers and five
sisters, Marshall Phinney of Toronto; Ainsley, Wesley and Dennis, Mrs. Fred
Seaman, Mrs. Gertrude Phinney, Mrs. Hugh Hiltz, Mrs. A.P. Cocoran and
Rebecca Phinney, all of Parrsboro. The funeral service was held from St.
George's Church on Monday afternoon, December 5th, with Venerable Archdeacon
C.R. Harris officiating. Interment was in the Anglican cemetery.
