Perry K. Allen
Port Greville - Perry K. Knowlton, 75, of Port Greville, died Tuesday in
Parrsboro Hospital. Born in Fraserville, he was the son of the late
Oliver and Grace (Knowlton) Allen. He was a construction contractor and
lumberman and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second
World War. He was a customs officer. Surviving are his wife, the
former Helen MacAleese; a son, Danny, Chatham, NB.; three grandchildren
and two great grandchildren; a sister, Vilda (Mrs. Harold Parker),
Worcester, N.Y.. He was predeceased by a son, Kenneth, three sisters
and two brothers. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro.,
Funeral will be held Friday at 3:30 P.M. in Port Greville United Church,
Rev. Parker Matheson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Vilda Parker
DECATUR - Mrs. Vilda Nette Parker, 91, of Parker Road, Decatur, died
Saturday, Aug. 12 1989, in Fox Hospital, Oneonta. She was born in
Frazerville, Nova Scotia, the daughter of William and Julia (Knowlton)
Allen. She was married to Harold C. Parker in Boston, Mass. He died i,
1964. A 41 year resident of Decatur, she previously lived in Yonkers.
Surviving are three sons, Roy C. and Allen A. Parker, both of Decatur,
and John Dundas of Corning; four daughter, Helen Ingraham of Baltimore,
MD., Helena M. Adair of Birminghamton, Chloe Van Valen of Trumansburg
and Regina Palmer of Oneonta; 17 grandchildren, and several
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1
p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 1989, in the Skinner Funeral home, Worcester, with
the Rev. C. Norman Moran, pastor of the Main Street Baptist Church,
Oneonta, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grave Cemetery,
Worcester. Calling hours Sunday evening.

OBITUARY - Harold Parker passed away very suddenly at home in Worcester,
New York on Wednesday, December 30, 1964. Born in Port Greville in 1900,
he was the eldest son of the late Robert & Mary (Parsons)Parker. Mr,
Parker was a member of the Wadsworth Baptist Church in New York, and a
member of the Masonic Lodge, Yonkers. Surviving are his wife, the former
Vilda Allen, Port Greville, four daughters, Mrs. Herbert Hoelter
(Helen), Niagara Falls; Mrs. Helena Adair, East Worcester; Mrs. George
Van Valen (Chloe), Trumansburg; Mrs. Eugenia Palmer, Oneonta; three
sons, Roy of Decatur; Allen, Worcester and John, Trumansburg. Sixteen
grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Elbing, New Jersey; Mrs. Alton
Robinson and Mrs. Darell Tibbetts both of New York City; and Mrs. Harold
Wilson, Port Greville; four brothers, Carvel, Brooklyn, NY; Robert, New
Jersey; St. Clair, Toronto; and Ross, Ohio, also survive.
Funeral was held Jan. 2 at the Skinner funeral Home. Burial at Maple
Grove Cemetery, Worcester.

Mrs. Nellie Spicer passed away at the Halifax Infirmary Sunday Jan. 10
after a brief illness. Born in Fraserville, sixty eight years ago, she
was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Allen of Port Greville.
Mrs. Spicer had resided in Parrsboro most of her life, where she had
been a faithful member of the United Church and the Rebecca Lodge. She
is survived by one daughter Grace, (Mrs. Ross Gibson) of Pictou, with
whom she had been residing before her illness. Also surviving are three
sisters; Nina Spicer of West Burke, Vermont; Vilda Parker of Worcester,
NY and Hilda Morris in Boston and two brothers, Harry and Perry Allen in
Port Greville. Her husband Johnson Spicer predeceased her in 1951.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 13 at the United Church in Parrsboro.

Carvel W. Parker - Halfway River - Carvel W. Parker, 70, of Halfway
River, formerly of New York, died Wednesday i Truro Hospital. Born in
Port Greville, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary (Parsons)
Parker. He was a retired employee of the New York Shipping
Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Jacqueline Lantz; a
daughter, Dolores (Mrs. Gene Vaughan), Nyack, N.Y.; two sons, Gene,
Halfway River; Henry, New York; three sisters, Christina (Mrs. Harold
Wilson), Port Greville; Mary (Mrs. Darrell Tibbetts), Ward's Brook; Eva
(Mrs. Elton Robinson), New York; two brothers, Ross, Troy, Ohio; St.
Clair, Toronto; two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first
wife, the former Agnes Fife. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home,
Parrsboro, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 P.M., Rev.
Parker Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Port Greville United
Church Cemetery.
