HOARE, George C - 88, East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash, and formerly of Fox Harbour, Cumberland Co., passed away peacefully in the lodge on Saturday, December 20, 2008, with his wife by his side. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Mabel A. (Slaunwhite) Hoare. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a pipe fitter and plumber. He was a veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former D. Hilda Ogilvie, Easter Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash; son, Ivan M. Hoare (June), Fox Harbour; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two sisters. Predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Abigail Bushen in infancy, and also by a sister. Cremation has taken place at the request of the deceased. Interment will take place in St. Andrew's United Church Cemetery in Fox Harbour at a later date.
