Oxford - Stanley Edward ROGERS, 93, died Sunday, December 19, 1983, in Camp Hill Hospital. Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late James and Sarah (RUSHTON) Rogers. He was a veteran of the First and Second World Wars, a member of Knights of Pythias and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of the United Baptist Church, Oxford, and he worked in lumbering, farming and insurance. He is survived by six sons, Emerson, Sydney River; Sheldon and Douglas, both of Oxford; Nathan, Hannon, Ontario; Prescott, Windsor; Charles, Kanata, Ontario; two daughters, Audrey (Mrs. Harland AKERMAN), Great Village; Emily, (Mrs. Hugh ASHCROFT), Halifax; a brother, Willard, and a sister, Blanche (Mrs. Richard EDWARDS); 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, ***the former Juanita TUPPER***; two brothers, Owen and Clarence, and a sister, Amy. The body is in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford. Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, in the United Baptist Church, Oxford, Rev. Dewis Rector officiating, assisted by Lic. Raeburn McNeil. Burial will be in the Windham Cemetery.
