Obit: FITZGERALD, John Raymond "Jack"

FITZGERALD, John Raymond "Jack" - The family is saddened to announce the passing of John "Jack" Raymond Fitzgerald of Tyndall Road, Amherst, on Friday, December 19, 2008, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, with his loving family by his side, at the age of 69. Born in Sackville, N.B., he was a son of the late Clarence and Muriel (Ward) Fitzgerald. Jack retired from CN after 30 years of service. He had a great passion in caring for animals small and large, especially dogs. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and always enjoyed playing crib with his family and friends. Jack will always be lovingly remembered by his children, Sherry (Glenn) Fagan of Bathurst, N.B., and son, Stephen (Shirley) of Amherst; as well as brothers, David (Mary) of Moncton, N.B.; Bob (Dorothy) of Amherst; sisters, Linda Gillis and Donna MacKennzie both of Amherst; Marlene Wheaton of Moncton, N.B.; special granddaughters, Chelsea and Tasha; great-grandson, Brodie all of Bathurst, N.B.; many nieces and nephews. To honour Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, from 1-3 p.m. followed immediately by a funeral service with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating, in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Donations in Jack's memory may be made to the L.A. Animal Shelter. www.campbells-amherst.ca
