MAWDSLEY, Daniel - The death of Daniel Mawdsley, age 89, River Hebert, occurred peacefully in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Thomas and Beatrice (Hindle) Mawdsley. Daniel was a farmer and he worked in the mines. He loved to watch the horse races, and had always been a member of the King Edward Masonic Lodge No. 86, and a member of the River Hebert Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by daughter, Colleen D. Mawdsley, Tatamagouche; sister, Edith Symes, River Hebert and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura; daughter, Christina; brothers, Cyril and Ralph; sister, Eliza Phinney, and several stepsisters and brothers. Arrangements are in the care of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at a later date in River Hebert Lata Cemetery. www.furlongjones.ca
