Archibald "Archie" F. Purdy Archibald "Archie" F. Purdy, 92, of Spencer Memorial Home, and formerly of Bath St., Moncton, with his family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Born in South Athol, NS, he was the son of the late Alexander and Sarah Anne (Brownell) Purdy. Archie was a retired dyer with Scotia Textiles, Moncton (38 years service); an adherent of Lewisville Baptist Church and a member of the Keen Agers Seniors Group. He enjoyed raising rabbits and crafting horse lamps, but first and foremost was his love for his wife, Florrie and his family. Archie will be sadly missed by daughters, Helen Murray (Ken), Barbara Newman (Larry), both of Moncton; grandchildren, Janet (Shawn), Pam (Allan), Leanne; great grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Allison, Keira; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, predeceased by wife, Flora "Florrie" (Buchanan) Purdy (2002); grandson, Matthew (2006); brother, Merriel; half sister, Marguerite Rector. No visitation by personal request. Funeral service, Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, November 28, 2008, 11:00 am, Rev. Gordon MacLeod officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford, NS. Special thanks to the staff at Spencer Memorial Home for the loving care and attention given to Dad. Our family will always be grateful.
